PCMag gives Sony’s top standard-definition an “Editor’s Choice” award in their Sony DCR-DVD508 review. Though it is standard definition, the Sony DCR-DVD508 shot accurate, sharp video, according to the reviewer. Sony revamped the touch-screen menu structure on this new model, putting tabbed sections to allow for easier access to menu functions.
Bottom line: if you want to stick with DVDs and standard definition resolution, the Sony DCR-DVD508 is a camcorder worth looking at.
