With so much content being created specifically for the internet and video-sharing sites, Sony has entered the ultra-portable camcorder market with the Sony NSC-GC1, or the “Net-sharing CAM.” This tiny camcorder measures only 1.19″ x 4.125″ x 2.25″ but features a whopping 1/2.5″ CMOS sensor. The Sony NSC-GC1 is specifically made to upload videos onto video-sharing sites.
This is done via built-in software that can automatically post your videos to many popular sites. You can also program the Sony NSC-GC1 to upload to your own personal website.
As for features, the Sony NSC-GC1 includes a built-in flash for taking 5 megapixel stills, 4x digital zoom, and a 2.4″ LCD screen. The included battery is rated at 90 minutes.
About 5 hours of footage can be recorded to the Sony NSC-GC1 using default settings to a 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo card. Video is recorded in MPEG-4 format and quality can range from QVGA resolutions at 15fps to VGA at 30fps.
The Sony Net-sharing CAM will be shipping in September for $199.99 and you can pre-order right now from SonyStyle.com
