Samsung has announced the first 1.8″ hard drives to reach 160GB capacity. What does this mean to you? If you answered “nothing” you are wrong. It means that the 100GB hard drive in that camcorder you thought was so amazing is meaningless next to the capacity you will get from this beast. Don’t think Samsung has HDD camcorders in mind? Think again:

HDD camcorders sales have skyrocketed. According to TSR, the market research institute, the HDD camcorder segment of the camcorder market will grow from 4 million units in 2006 to over 8 million units by the end of 2011.

You could record paint drying with one of these things in your camcorder.
