Panasonic’s PV-GS85 is definitely a budget camcorder, clocking in at just under $300. CNET’s Panasonic PV-GS85 review gives the camcorder a once-over and rates it at a 6.2 out of 10. The reviewer found that it was easy to use and had good video quality for the price. Low light performance was bad, but the built-in video light helped a little.
Overall this camcorder looks just OK. It doesn’t have a LEICA lens and only 340K effective pixels. For the same price you can probably find a better camcorder, and for a couple hundred bucks more you could have the pick of the litter.
