For a standard definition, hybrid HDD/SDHC camcorder, the Panasonic SDR-H200 looks like a good choice. It has its caveats, but for the advanced point-and-shoot user, it seems to do the trick. CamcorderInfo takes a look at this particular camcorder in their Panasonic SDR-H200 review, and come to the conclusion that, “this is the HDD or hybrid camcorder to buy for power users not looking to upgrade to high definition just yet, as long as you can deal with the poor low light performance.”
Low-light quality was the only thing that really suffered compared to other camcorders in its class, but the Panasonic SDR-H200 more than made up for that in manual controls and pure usability. Optical image stabilization was also a plus, and worked very well to minimize camcorder shake.
