DMN has a tutorial on how to edit Canon’s 24f footage in Final Cut Pro 6. Similar to progressive-scan video (think 24p), Canon’s 24f stands for “full-frame” video. It is only used in their professional HDV camcorders like the XL H1, XH G1, and XH A1. In the tutorial, the author shows you how to successfully edit this footage in FCP 6.

As an interesting sidenote, the author also recommends the Canon HV20 as a playback deck for 24f footage if you are worried about your tape heads deteriorating.
