According to CamcorderInfo, Samsung has put a stop to manufacturing its Sports Camcorders in the U.S. This comes after Samsung shut down its Sports Camcorder forums, on which the webmaster posted this statement:

There [have] been several technical imperfections with the units - some fixed - some not… Samsung, at this point, will not be releasing new Sportscams; at least not in the U.S., however I have not found anything to indicate any future global releases.

It’s interesting that Samsung decided to do this since these camcorders definitely hit on a very tight market. Perhaps after a few models they found that sales were not what they wanted them to be. Whatever the case, they are still available for purchase online while supplies last.
