The blog over at Adobe has a good article about some of the different products and codecs that are out there to capture and edit HDV footage. Of course, it is focused on the side of bringing said footage into Adobe Premiere, but most of the products discussed will work with other NLEs as well. Some good info here for those just starting into the world of editing HDV.
