I was hoping for a better showing from Hitachi as they debuted the world’s first Blu-ray camcorder, but CamcorderInfo’s Hitachi DZ-BD7HA review completely blew that hope out of the water. Just looking at their standardized 3000 lux light test made me cringe. What you get for your money with this HD camcorder is pretty sad. I think this one will need to be put in the same boat as the JVC GZ-HD7, and Hitachi’s very own standard-definition hybrid camcorders: big on concept, light on follow-through.
