Canon FS100

Canon has entered the flash memory camcorder arena with three new standard-definition camcorders. The Canon FS100, FS10, and FS11 camcorders will all be capable of recording footage to SDHC memory cards. The FS10 and FS11 also feature internal flash memory with capacities of 8GB and 16GB, respectively. All three camcorders are equipped with a 1.07 megapixel, 1/6″ CCD, 2.7″ widescreen LCD, and microphone jacks.

Canon’s new Advanced Zoom technology, which combines Canon’s optics and image processing technology to push the zoom past its normal optical limit, allows the new camcorders to reach 48x zoom.

The entry-level FS100 will be available in silver, navy blue, and wine red. The FS100 will run you $399, and the FS10 and FS11 will cost $499 and $599. All three camcorders will be available between April and May.
