mg505.jpgJVC has unveiled another new addition to their line of Everio tapeless camcorders with the new GZ-MG505. This new digital camcorder features 3 CCDs, making it the first (correct me if I’m wrong) hard-drive based digital camcorder to have 3 CCDs. The MG505 records onto a 30GB hard drive, which means you can get a little over 7 hours of video at the highest quality.

The JVC GZ-MG505 features three 1.3MP CCDs, which will equal great looking video from a camcorder that is only a bit larger and heavier than its other Everio counterparts. This also means you should get 3MP still shots as well. Other features on the GZ-MG505 include a 10x optical zoom, widescreen LCD, compatibility with the Everio DVD burners, and a maximum F1.8 aperture.

An automatic flash is built-in for your still shots as well, and as a side-note the zoom maxes out at 8x when using the still shot mode. This camcorder looks like it could be a winner if it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. Keep an eye on the JVC America site for it to show up, but in the meantime you can check out their Japanese site if you’re really anxious.
