If you have 4GB SDHC cards you have to have something to do with them, right? Panasonic doesn’t let us down and has announced the Panasonic SDR-S200, which will utilize the new SDHC cards. This tapeless camcorder is virtually identical to its predecessor, the SDR-S100, except for the fact that it can take higher-capacity SDHC cards.
This tiny little camcorder has three 1/6″ CCD, a 10x optical zoom, and will record video at up to 10Mbps in MPEG2. A 2GB SD card is also included that will net you around 26 minutes of recording time on the highest quality setting. For those mathematically challenged among us this would mean that you will get around 52 minutes on a 4GB SDHC card.
The SDR-S200 will be available July 8th, but only in Japan for now. I’m sure we’ll see it or an equivalent in the USA at some point, but who knows when.
