Its a little harder nowadays to see reviews for standard definition camcorders when HD camcorders are getting cheaper everyday. CamcorderInfo’s Sony DCR-SR300 review is no different, especially because an HD camcorder can be had for the same price or a little more. The reviewer makes sure to point this out, but if you must read on go right ahead, because the DCR-SR300 didn’t fare poorly at all.

High definition stuff aside, the Sony DCR-SR300 performed very well for this review. Video quality was great in bright light and, although it suffered from a little too much noise, low-light performance was decent. The camcorder itself is simple and easy to use in typical Sony fashion.

If you are looking for a very good, standard definition tapeless camcorder the Sony DCR-SR300 might be just the right thing for you.
