We first heard about the Samsung SC-HMX10 way back in January, when it was announced and then immediately unannounced at CES. Now Samsung has officially unveiled the illusive camcorder. As Samsung’s first ever HD camcorder, it will remain to be seen if they can capture some of the market that all the main camcorder manufacturers have already entered. As for the SC-HMX10 itself, there are some new features that are quite interesting.

We already know that the Samsung SC-HMX10 records to internal memory, but that memory has been upgraded from the previously announced 4GB to an 8GB capacity. Up to 90 minutes of video can be recorded at the highest quality setting. You can also use a SD or SDHC card to increase that capacity even further.

The Samsung SC-HMX10 camcorder features a 10x optical zoom, 1/6″ CMOS sensor, and a 2.7″ LCD. The LCD screen will be touch-sensitive, which makes Samsung one of two manufacturers using a touchscreen for their menu system.

Available in September (UPDATE: looks like mid-October is the official release date), the Samsung SC-HMX10 will have a MSRP of $799. You can pre-order immediately.

This HD cam is flashmemory type ans easy to handle with touchscreen and hook it up with PC and HDTV and so on.
swivel grip helps anybody to get shooting angles easily.
I think HMX20 is entry level of HD cam but, it’s affordable price (approx.US$400~500)and easy interface (easy Q menu) on it. It’s also including good shape of Remote controller.
