Samsung is getting into the hybrid camcorder market with the Samsung SC-DX10. This new camcorder will record onto flash memory or DVD, making Samsung the second manufacturer to produce HDD/DVD hybrid camcorders. The SC-DX10 has 4GB of internal memory, and the footage on the internal memory can be dubbed to DVD on battery power, a feature that current hybrid camcorders lack.

The Samsung SC-DX10 will also feature Samsung’s new touchscreen menu interface, which can also be found on the just announced Samsung SC-HMX10, the company’s first HD camcorder.

Other features include a 2.7″ widescreen LCD, 26x optical zoom, and 1/6″ CCD with 1-million gross pixels. The battery is encased underneath the LCD screen (no high-capacity batteries) and sports a battery life of 2 hours.

The Samsung SC-DX10 will be available in September or October for $549.
